One of the things I love most about living in Chicago is the variety of restaurants that you can choose from. You can find great food in both the suburbs and the city. With all of the options, it can be hard to narrow down your choices. Sometimes I like to pick food based on how I am feeling – Does anyone else do that? Because they’re so many cultures here the restaurants reflect the culture of the people living here. You can get Spanish food, Jamaican, Indian, Ethiopian or a good old American dish.
My husband and I love going to different restaurants around the city. It was actually Daniel (my hubby) who help me come up with a list of awesome places to eat in Chicago or suburbs. He is a part of a dinner club. In this club once a month, the members take turns picking a restaurant in the city to visit. With Valentine’s Day coming up, it is important to make reservations early. Hopefully, this list that I will provide, will help you in selecting the perfect place to eat the night of Valentine’s Day.
Maya Del Sol– Latin American food in Oak Park. The salmon is to die for. Well, not literally but it is really good. I also love their chicken and guacamole.
Purple Pig- This is an American Tapas restaurant located in the city. My husband’s favorite dish is the chicken thigh kebabs and the duck.
Ja’Grill- Jamaican cuisine in the city of Hyde Park. The two top things to order is the escovitch red snapper fish and the jerk chicken. If you want a more laidback atmosphere, I definitely recommend this place.
Tango Sur- Is such a nice low-lit restaurant located in the city. The venue is dark and romantic, perfect for v-day. This place is a Latin American steakhouse restaurant but has vegetarian options as well. You can also bring your own alcoholic beverage. This can be convenient if you have a favorite wine and want to cut back on cost.
Thi Thi’s Restaurant- it is a mix of French and Vietnamese food. This place is delicious! It is located in the suburbs of Evergreen Park. My favorite is the noodle dish with tofu. If you don’t like tofu you can get it with chicken or beef as well.
