When it comes to planning and staying organized, you might say I’m nuts! I love to schedule and organize plans way ahead in advance, it honestly keeps me sane. If you have a crazy life, here are some tips that can help you stay organized.
Create a to-do-list:
This is the first step to staying organized. Sometimes it is overwhelming to think of all the things you have to do in a week. When you break it down one day at a time and create a to-do-list for the day or the week, you feel so accomplished as you cross off the task. I like to make my list in the notes section on my phone, some people like to write it down on paper or create sticky notes on their fridge. However, you like to create a list use it to prioritize your life!
Buy a planner:
I have two! Lol! Seriously, it helps me to remember all that I have to do. I have one planner for work projects and due dates for meetings or assessments. I have another planner for home. This is where I write down my due dates for bills or family and friends events that we get invited to. My planner helps me keep on top of things. Everyone needs a little reminder once in a while. Why not use a planner to do that!?
Creating short-term goals is a great motivator. What do I want to accomplish this week or this month? Once you establish what your goals are, start creating steps to achieve them. You can do this by creating a checklist, a vision board or a web/graphic organizer. However you decide to organize your steps, it is important to plan them in order to accomplish the goal.
I know it is hard to say no sometimes but understand that you cannot make it to everything. Try to create a balance but do not overbook to the extent that you are pushing yourself too thin. I think I use to struggle with this. I want to make it to everything that I forget to stay home and unwind. It is important to have time to yourself and don’t feel guilty because you have to miss an event or two.
